Wildfire Training Instruction & Refresher Courses

Northwest Management, Inc. provides basic wildland fire training (S-130, S190), the annual fire refresher (RT-130), Firefighter 1 (S-131), Crew Boss (S-230), and Engine Boss (S-231) programs.

We generally offer the RT-130 to contractors from February to May each year, and the other courses as needed or requested. The annual RT-130 training courses are offered in Grangeville, ID and Moscow, ID. Depending on class size and need we are also able to provide on-site courses at times and locations that best meet team needs. Class sizes range from 15 to 80 or more for the RT-130. Call us for minimum class sizes and alternate locations.

Our staff are a team of active wildland firefighters who can provide various trainings through an agreement with the USFS. We follow the guidance of the National Wildfire Coordinating Group for all our trainings and provide these trainings to area contractors to enable them to supplement local, state, and federal fire suppression programs.

Montana Forest Landowners Conference

2021 Date: TBD, Helena, Montana.

Northwest Management, Inc., The Montana Forest Stewardship Foundation and the Montana Society of American Foresters invite you to plan to attend the 11th Annual Forest Landowner Conference in Helena, Montana at the Helena Delta Colonial Hotel.

The objective of the conference is to provide Montana forest landowners with a high quality workshop. Expert speakers at the conference have diverse backgrounds and come from industry, academic institutions, non-profits, state and Federal agencies,  and private businesses. They will speak about the diverse array of topics including forest management, wildlife, forest health, new technology, forest economics and Montana Collaborative. The format is designed to be fun and allow plenty of time during breaks and question and answer periods to ask questions and mingle with your peers, speakers, friends and new acquaintances. Silent auction provides an opportunity to come home with some treasure and support a good cause.

In 2001, Northwest Management, Inc. and Idaho Forest Associates initiated a unique conference for professional foresters targeted to promote continuing education, ethics and pride in our profession. Over the years, this annual conference has grown to include valuable information and workshops for all natural resource professionals. The conference delivers high quality workshops on new ideas, technologies, and emerging policy and professional issues.

The 20th Annual Foresters Forum will be held at The Coeur d’Alene Resort in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. The forum is a fantastic venue for Inland Northwest foresters and resource professionals to focus on their profession, share information and learn new ideas, techniques and technologies. We are pleased to present high achieving and richly experienced speakers from all over the nation. Over 90% of the material presented at the forum is new every year, and this year will be no different.
