32nd Annual Montana Natural Resources Youth Camp

The 32nd Montana Natural Resources Youth Camp will be held July 15-20 (6 days and 5 nights), 2018 at the rustic Lubrecht Experimental Forest in Greenough, Montana.

The Philosophy of the Montana Natural Resources Youth Camp (MYNRYC) is simply that “future decisions on how our natural resources will be managed will be made by the youth of today”. By providing youth an opportunity to learn about scientific principles, economic realities, historical heritage, and social perspectives of today, we can help these future leaders in their quest to develop policies that are informed and progressive. It is our belief that in order to make thoughtful decisions, each person must know him/herself, must understand the values on which his/her beliefs are based, and must be willing and able to understand and respect the values of others in working towards conservation of our natural resources.

The camp is for youth 14-18 years old and costs only $300.00. Information on the camp activities, downloading a camp application and flyer can be found at the camps website http://mnyrc.org/. The camp fee covers only 40% of the actual cost per student for a week long camp experience so donations are always needed. If you’re interested in donating to the camp you can contact Jim Cancroft, NMI Senior Forester and a MYNRC Board Member at cancroft@nmi2.com or 406-544-8489.
